VMware wireless bridge mode issue
I have installed Ubuntu 64bit edition on my Sony Vaio laptop. After i get failed with usb functionality at Sun Virtualbox, i decided to use another virtualization software which is VMware player. At the beginning everything was fine. But a while later, when i try to use my wlan0 interface via bridge mode in my virtual machine, i realised that the network connection closes itself and then i couldn’t connect to internet.
I found the way, solved the issue after a while i searched at google. There is a patch at hauke-m.de for this issue!
1) Download Hauke-m’s patched vmnet.tar file on this link.
2) Open a terminal window, the switch your path to /usr/lib/vmware/modules/source
3) In this directory, you will find “vmnet.tar”. Rename it with a different name like vmnetOLD.tar
4) Copy Hauke-m’s patched vmnet.tar to /usr/lib/vmware/modules/source
5) Reboot both your physical and virtual pc.
6) Now you should be able to connect to internet via bridged mode in VMware.
