Frisby 5.1 soundbox on Ubuntu Karmic

I just wondered if my Frisby external sound card works on Ubuntu. First i googled for any linux driver of Frisby 5.1 Soundbox, but unfortunately there was not. So i just thought about if it directly works via Alsa without any extra installation or configuration? And yes, it happened exactly like that! After a few tryouts, i successfully got the sound out via Frisby 5.1 soundbox. Here is what you need:

1- Make sure that, you have already plugged your external Frisby 5.1 soundbox via usb.

2- You have to restart your Ubuntu (or you must be plugged your external usb soundbox before you powered on your computer.)

3-  Go to “System” -> “Preferences” -> “Sound”

4- Once you see “Sound Preferences” window, go to “Hardware” section.

5- Now you must see your external sound card as “Storm HP-USB500 5.1 Headset”. Click on it and then choose “Analog Surround 7.1 Output + Analog Stereo Input” from Profiles.

That’s all. Now, you are be able to choose your external sound card from “Input” and “Output” sections. After you choose, if you could not hear any sound via your external soundcard, just restart your operating system. It worked for me!

I really like the Ubuntu way, there is no need to find any driver! Can!t be better :)
